Packing for a surf trip to Morocco is straightforward, but a few key items can make your adventure much more comfortable. Here’s our essential checklist for 2026.
Surf Gear Essentials
- Wetsuit: For winter (Oct-Mar), a 4/3mm is ideal. For summer (Apr-Sep), a 3/2mm or even a shorty will do. If you feel the cold, a 4/3 is a safe bet year-round.
- Surfboard: If you're bringing your own, an all-rounder or a board with a bit more volume is great for Morocco's points. Otherwise, all our partner camps offer high-quality rentals.
- Surfscreen/Zinc: The Moroccan sun is strong. A high-SPF, water-resistant zinc stick for your face is non-negotiable.
- Booties (Optional): Useful for some of the reef breaks or rocky entry points.
- Leash & Wax: Bring spares! A snapped leash can end a great session prematurely.
Clothing & General Items
- Layers: Pack warm clothes like hoodies, beanies, and a windproof jacket. Evenings can get cool, especially in winter.
- Daywear: T-shirts, shorts, and comfortable trousers are perfect for daytime.
- Swimwear: A couple of pairs for under your wetsuit and for lounging.
- Reusable Water Bottle: Stay hydrated and reduce plastic waste. Tap water is generally not drinkable, but filtered water is widely available.
- Travel First-Aid Kit: Include basics like antiseptic wipes, plasters, and pain relief.
- European Power Adapter: Morocco uses Type C and E plugs.
- Cash (Dirhams): While cards are accepted in cities, many smaller shops, cafes, and markets are cash-only.
