Imsouane Surf Guide — Africa’s Longest Wave for Beginners

Imsouane is a laid-back fishing village that happens to be home to one of the most forgiving waves on the planet. The Bay, a gentle right-hand point break, can produce rides of up to 800 metres on the right swell — making it Africa’s longest wave and an absolute paradise for beginners and longboarders.

Just north of the bay, the Cathedral offers a faster, more powerful wave for intermediate and advanced surfers. Our Imsouane guide breaks down both breaks, the best seasons to visit, where to eat fresh seafood by the harbour, and which surf camps provide the best beginner-friendly packages.
